III - Kelly Bar. |

The kelly bar monitoring application deals
with cycling activity that repeats basic movements –
bat not exactly.
The requirement is to keep measuring accuracy
along the process, and, at the same time, to submit the operator
with selected, relevant, information.
TomTech III
deals with the challenge by intensive use of the Wise
Sensor and Soft Device
abilities.
|
 |
 |
The sensor’s built in micro-processor
takes care for the preciseness, applying special software
package.
at the some time, the main computer monitors the activities
using audio-visual means.
The result is guidance at the level
of instrumentation drilling –
the operator does not have to look outside the cabin, he has
all he needs monitored by TomTech III,
applying visual images and audio signals.
|
 |
A good example for the power and Efficiency
of the Visual-Audio capability is the way
TomTech III instructs the operator to swing back to
the pile center, after unloading the ground from the bucket.
On the screen there is an analogue image
of the turret, indicating the swing angle. In parallel, a numeric
gauge shows the exact deviation from the center of the pile.
|
 |
As long as the turret angle is
more then 5 degrees, there is no audio signal. Once the angle
is less then 5 degrees – audio sound, from the deviation
side of the swing angle, starts. The sound lasts until the
turret aims the center of the pile. If there is over shooting,
and the turret rotated too much, a sound from the other side
starts.
Thus, just utilizing the audio signals,
the operator may fully control the swing motion of the rig,
with no need to look outside the cabin, nor to trace the monitor.
|
 |
The measurements are
accurate and smart. The accuracy enables the operator to relay
on TomTech III, and to perform
a pile which is as closed to theoretical cylinder as possible.
The smart features solve unexpected problems
like cave-in, movements of the rig, and mechanical break downs.
The main advantages of the kelly bar application
are:
- Reduction of over concrete consumption.
- Productivity increasing.
- Down time reduction.
- Longer cable and kelly bar life time.
- Operator performance upgrading.
- Parameters registering.
