The Grabs
application converts the diaphragm wall digging from complicated,
and experience based task, into ordinary foundation work.
Whether the grabs
are hydraulically operated, or driven by two cables –
TomTech III provides audio/visual
indications at the level of instrumentation digging.
The operator may fully relay on it.
The application
monitors the grabs movements in
all direction, including
the ground digging process.
As a result, the operator receives a picture which reflects
his activities.
Even being deep in side the hole, the operator seas the grabs
and their position , as well as the bottom of the element, and
the chewing action of the grabs.
being a member of TomTech
III family, the Grabs
application enjoys the advanced facilities provided.
The calibration of the grabs, and the depth,
are easily, and simply done by two steps.
The operator is asked to place the grabs
at ground level while being closed.
Then he is asked to place
the grabs at ground level while are fully opened.
And that is all.
The grabs are calibrated and zeroed.
While the operator performs those two simple
tasks,
TomTech III takes care for the
needed measurements and calculations.
No one has to set parameters, nor to perform
any mathematic formula.
TomTech III
has the capacity to deal, by Itself, with all the complicated
assignments involved.
The depth calibration
is done by a similar way. The operator is asked to place the
grabs at two different depths. All the rest is done by TomTech
III.
The above simple procedures are applicable
to two cables driven grabs as well as to hydraulic driven.
Even though a cable based displacement measurement
is problematic, and two cable based displacement measurements
are twice as difficult, TomTech III
has the capability to manage the calibration by itself.
